Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 24, 2026

This is a translation. In case of any discrepancy, the Spanish version prevails.

This Privacy Policy describes how WorkIsThere (hereinafter, “WorkIsThere”, “we”, “us”) processes the personal data of those who visit the website workisthere.com or use its services (hereinafter, the “User” or “you”), in compliance with Argentine Law No. 25,326 on the Protection of Personal Data, its implementing regulations and, to the extent applicable, the Brazilian General Data Protection Law (LGPD, Law 13,709/2018), the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the other data protection laws of the Latin American countries where the Platform is offered.

1. Data controller

The controller of the database and of the processing is the owner of the WorkIsThere site, domiciled in the Argentine Republic. For any inquiry related to your personal data you may write to [email protected].

2. Data we collect

We collect only the data necessary to provide the service:

  • Registration data: first and last name, email, password (which is stored encrypted and which we can never see), account type (individual or company) and, where applicable, company name. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email and profile photo from that account.
  • Profile data that you choose to publish: photo, professional title, description, country, languages, skills, hourly rate, website and whether you work as an agency.
  • Activity data: published projects, submitted proposals, inquiries, messages and files exchanged, progress updates, deliveries, ratings, saved projects and notifications.
  • Support data: if you write to us through the support chat, your first and last name, email, the messages sent and the page from which you contacted us.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, date and time of access, error logs and security data necessary to protect the Platform against abuse.
  • Cookies and local storage: as detailed in the Cookie Policy.

3. Data we do not collect

WorkIsThere does not process payments, and therefore does not request or store credit or debit card data, bank accounts or e-wallet passwords. We do not request sensitive data (racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious beliefs, trade union membership, health or sex life) and we ask that you not include it in your profile or messages.

4. Purposes of processing

We use your data to:

  • Create and manage your Account, enable sign-in and keep your session active.
  • Display your public profile and your Projects, enable the search for freelancers and jobs, and connect Clients with Freelancers.
  • Manage Proposals, the weekly quota, messaging, workspaces, deliveries and ratings.
  • Send you notifications and operational emails (account confirmation, new messages, proposals, hirings, security notices).
  • Respond to your support inquiries.
  • Prevent fraud, spam, abuse and unauthorized access, and enforce the Terms and Conditions.
  • Improve the Platform through aggregated and anonymous usage statistics.
  • Comply with legal obligations and respond to requests from competent authorities.

5. Legal bases

We process your data on the basis of: (i) your consent, which you give when you register, when you complete your profile, when you write to us through support or when you accept optional cookies; (ii) the need to perform the relationship that binds us under the Terms and Conditions; (iii) our legitimate interest in maintaining the security of the Platform and preventing abuse; and (iv) compliance with legal obligations.

You may withdraw your consent at any time, without retroactive effect, by writing to [email protected].

6. Public information

Please note that the information in your professional profile (name, photo, title, description, country, skills, hourly rate, ratings and work performed) and the Projects you publish are public: they can be seen by all visitors and may be indexed by search engines such as Google or Bing. Your email, your private messages and your proposals are not public.

7. Who we share your data with

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share it only in the following cases:

  • With other Users, to the extent necessary for the operation of the service: for example, the Client sees the proposals they receive and Users see the messages in their conversations.
  • With providers that render technology services to us and that act on our behalf, under confidentiality and security obligations: Supabase (database, authentication and file storage, with servers in the United States), Cloudflare (content delivery network, security and protection against attacks), the server provider where the application is hosted (United States), Google (if you choose to sign in with your Google account) and our email provider.
  • With judicial or administrative authorities, where there is a legal obligation or a valid request.
  • In the event of a reorganization, merger or sale of the Platform, with the acquirer, who must respect this Policy.

8. International transfers

Some of our providers store or process data outside your country, mainly in the United States. By using the Platform you consent to those transfers, which we carry out with providers that offer adequate levels of protection, through contractual clauses or other mechanisms provided for by applicable law.

9. Retention period

We retain your data while your Account is active. If you request termination, we will delete or anonymize your data within thirty (30) days, except for data that we must retain to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud or enforce our agreements. Ratings you have left may be kept in anonymized form to preserve the integrity of the reputation system. Technical server logs are kept for a limited period and then deleted automatically. Support conversations are kept for up to twenty-four (24) months from the last message.

10. Security

We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data: encrypted connections via HTTPS, passwords stored with hashing algorithms, database-level access rules that prevent one User from seeing another’s private data, firewalls, security updates and access monitoring. No system is completely infallible; if we detect a breach affecting your data, we will inform you and notify the competent authority where applicable.

11. Your rights

You may exercise at any time your rights of access, rectification, updating, erasure, objection, restriction and portability of your data, as well as withdraw your consent. You can modify much of your data directly from “Edit profile”. For anything else, write to us at [email protected] from the registered email. We will respond within the legal deadlines: in Argentina, ten (10) calendar days for access and five (5) business days for rectification, updating or erasure.

The data subject has the right to exercise the right of access to their personal data free of charge at intervals of no less than six months, unless a legitimate interest is shown for that purpose, as provided in Article 14, paragraph 3 of Law No. 25,326. The AGENCIA DE ACCESO A LA INFORMACIÓN PÚBLICA (Argentine Agency for Access to Public Information), in its capacity as the Supervisory Authority of Law No. 25,326, has the power to handle the complaints and claims filed by those whose rights are affected by non-compliance with the rules in force on personal data protection.

If you reside in Brazil, you may exercise the rights provided for in Article 18 of the LGPD and file complaints with the Autoridade Nacional de Proteção de Dados (ANPD). If you reside in the European Union, you may lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority of your country. If you reside in another Latin American country, you may turn to the local data protection authority.

12. Minors

The Platform is intended for persons over 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If we become aware that a minor has registered, we will delete their Account and data.

13. Emails and communications

Operational emails (account confirmation, password recovery, security notices and service notifications) are necessary for the operation of the Platform. We do not send third-party advertising. If in the future we send WorkIsThere news, you will be able to unsubscribe with one click.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this Policy to reflect changes in the service or in the law. We will publish the new version on this page with its update date and, if the changes are substantial, we will notify you by email or on the Platform.

15. Contact

For any inquiry about privacy or to exercise your rights, write to us at [email protected] or use the support chat.
